CM Trends is the premier forum for learning about, discussing, and sharing new advances and practices in Configuration Management. This event addresses CM as practiced by various organizations, in various environments, and in various life cycle phases. As CM Trends does not focus on a single CM methodology, attendees will learn about the latest best practices, international standards, and much more, according to Larry Gurule, President of CMPIC.

Now having participated in all of the CM Trends held over the years, CMstat enthusiastically supports CMPIC’s goal for the event “of bringing people together, connecting and inspiring them, so we can create the potential for positive change.” An example of such is the twice-daily question and answer forums where attendees can ask CM subject matter experts for their advice on CM issues and challenges the attendees expect to deal with when they return home to their offices.

At this year’s CM Trends, CMstat as an exhibitor will offer updates and demonstrations of EPOCH CM configuration management software. EPOCH CM was developed to enable CM leads, program managers, project leads, product engineers, supply chain contractors and MRO/sustainment operators to quickly deploy an instantly-usable asset lifecycle configuration management tool that is immediately cost effective with a minimum of configuration, customization, and integration required.

During a demonstration of EPOCH CM, CMstat can take participants through various examples of CM-related tasks and workflows associated with maintaining the “As-Built” configuration of deployed equipment. Learn more about the capabilities, functionality, and application use cases of EPOCH CM that can be demonstrated HERE.

After the 2.5 day seminar portion of the event, Lisa Fenwick, Vice President of CMstat, will be co-leading a training workshop on “Functional and Physical Configuration Audits” with other CMPIC instructors. This 2.5 day hands-on “FCA/PCA In-Depth Process Workshop” will dive into the requirements and objectives of Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) which are summations of the configuration verification activity relevant to commercial and government contracts. Using international standards, such as SAE EIA-649C and IEEE Std 15288.2, attendees will learn to define and evaluate the audit process from start to finish. Learn more about the role of audits in this previous CMsights article on Configuration Management Audits.

Additional Configuration Management training and certification opportunities offered during the week include CMPIC Course 6 on "SAE EIA-649C Principles & Applications" and Course 16 on "Enterprise CM Planning."
