New dates have been announced in June, 2024, for a training course offered by CMstat that will provide an introduction to the principles of GEIA859 Data Management (DM) with emphasis on what the practical application of DM truly entails for a product, project, program, or enterprise.
Students will gain an understanding of DM functions and how they work in concert to enable best-in-class management, identification, storage, protection, and access control of all types of data.
The application of DM to contracts data, CDRL/SDRL deliverables data, administrative data, product metadata, compliance data, analytics data, and associated data-handling processes all will be discovered.
Real-world examples from our certified instructor’s extensive experience implementing DM, driving functionality in DM tools, participating in standards authoring teams, and consulting with defense and commercial customers will further illustrate the benefits of effective DM and the risks of not performing it correctly.
Attendees will gain an awareness of the depth and breadth of DM, its application in varied environments and how DM integrates with other functions such as Quality, Systems Engineering, Logistics, Contracts, and Program Management.
In addition to the essential elements of DM, attendees will also explore:
How data management standards like GEIA859 and associated handbooks address life cycle data management requirements.
How data governance objectives present relationships and goals of DM processes and tools.
Implementation strategies when the integration of processes, practices, tools, and governance tenets is industry or site dependent.
Methodologies and best practices for streamlining DM processes.
Common pitfalls in the implementation of DM and how to avoid them.
How to promote DM internally not as an expense but as a customer satisfaction and revenue generation opportunity.
Participants will ultimately appreciate how DM enables the establishment and maintenance of a trustworthy source of product, project, and enterprise data through strategies for data identification, data storage, protection, security, and data analytics.
This course is intended for professionals working in roles such as:
Data Analysts and Managers
Configuration Data Managers
Contract Deliverables Managers
Project and Product Managers
Regulatory Compliance Data Managers
Digital Transformation Project Managers
IT and Security Professionals
The course will prepare DM professionals to lead the effort to establish appropriate data provenance and governance which is crucial for managing data-intensive initiatives such as those involved with deliverables management, configuration management, digital twins, PDM/PLM, cybersecurity, NIST-800 compliance, CMMC, and AI/ML to name just a few.
This class materials have been developed by seasoned, enthusiastic, practicing data management experts who will share the principles, enablers, and best practices that can inform and improve the proficiency and skills of all those attending.
The on-line class will be offered virtually via Microsoft Teams on June 17-20, 2024, from 1 pm-5 pm U.S. Eastern Daylight Savings time. The class fee is $1,250 USD.
