About the team

The Support & Services (S&S) Capability Team is a high performing and dynamic team, tasked with enhancing the capability effectiveness and efficiency of the Support & Service Function. This includes driving standardisation, simplification and optimisation of processes, data and tools across the enterprise whilst ensuring strict compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

About the role

As Technical Lead S&S Capability (Configuration Management) you will be a Subject Matter Expert in the field of Configuration Management (CM) and are responsible for the CM documentation framework (including program CDRL’s such as Configuration Management Plans (CMP)), the domain competency framework and management, driving standardisation, simplification and optimisation of processes/data/tools across the entire CM framework at Airbus.  You will be working in a team environment and be involved in a variety of tasks relating to continuous improvement and innovation.

This will include:

  • Building relationships across all areas of the business

  • Working on the CM and Engineering Change processes, systems and tools, looking for and driving improvements and efficiencies

  • Identifying areas to standardise practices across the multiple platforms we support

  • Developing and maintaining an effective competency framework to enhance the effectiveness of the CM team and enhance alignment with Airbus Helicopters and the wider Airbus Group.

  • Driving process improvement and productivity improvement

  • Working with the various Commonwealth of Australia System Program Offices to improve customer service and satisfaction

  • Work with, train and coach Managers, Team Leads and Team Members through CM principles and application to ensure best practice while maintaining business continuity

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have well developed interpersonal skills, are someone who is passionate and determined, able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines  in an environment of continuous improvement. The skills and experience best suited to this role:

  • Proven Configuration Management experience (preferably in the aviation and/or defence industries)

  • Formal Qualification/Accreditation/Certification from a recognised body in Configuration Management and Software Configuration Management

  • Bachelor of Engineering (relevant to maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness or aircraft components) or an aircraft maintenance engineer/technical qualification in Avionics, Mechanical or Structures trade streams or an EASA/CASR/DASR Part 66 licence would be highly desirable

  • Understanding of applicable legislation, regulations and standards

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple complex activities across various stakeholders
